Question:

Hello Dr. Lipschitz, my name is Anita and I'm a noted fashion photographer in Liberty City with over 40 years of experience. My question is: when is it time to retire and pass on the torch? I miss the times of champagne luncheons, snorting cocaine off of bare-chested models, and DISCO! - Anita

Answer:

Dear Anita,

I too find myself wondering when it's my time to pass on the torch to the younger generations, and truth be told... they'll have to pry that fucking torch out of my cold dead hands...

Face it, we're women of a certain generation, we walked the path which has made it possible for the youngsters to run down the same path. What do they really know about life? What do they even bring to the table? We have so much expertise, so much experience and we know best!

Well, the days of disco, Studio 54 and snorting cocaine off of bare-chested models are long gone. It's sad, I must admit, I also miss all of those things. Waking up in the 70's, snorting a line of coke to wake yourself up... those were the days...

Forever gone are those days, and with them, we too shall be lost upon time. Whether it be today, tomorrow or in a million years or two, we will be long dead at some point. Until then, we have to decide, do we still want to run the entire show ourselves or do we want to help build up the future generations.

If we build up the future generations, our expertise will never be lost. Give the younger generations a chance. They need experience! With our guidance the next generations will amount to more than we ever could with the limits placed upon us. They will be unstoppable, leading the charge!

Pass the torch, I say, but don't stand in the dark, walk alongside the new torchbearer and guide them!

Warm regards,

Sylvia.
