While it may be no secret that Los Santos may not have been the safest city prior to the nuclear evacuation seven years ago, in the recent days following the beginning of the city's rejuvenation project the recorded rate of petty crime, violent felonies and general hooliganism within the State of San Andreas has skyrocketed, and local policing departments appear to be struggling to meet the demand for law enforcement.

“The DMV is under attack daily via shootings, assaults, bombings, duels, biological terror attacks and the like - It's gotten so bad that we've had to begin hiring external security to keep us safe.”

Said an anonymous source currently employed at the Los Santos Department of Motor Vehicles, recently voted the "Most Miserable Place To Work in the State of San Andreas" - Though, they aren't the only ones following this trend. Following an increase in armed violence and kidnapping, both major franchises such as Cluckin' Bell and smaller businesses such as Hayes Auto Repair have also begun to hire private security contractors to help mitigate crime in and around their workplaces in lieu of the LSPD.

Unfortunately, this has brought on its own breed of criminal, as reported once again by our anonymous source from the DMV - Scammers, fraudsters and charlatans, who pose as security outside of these businesses and attempt to con the public.

“There was a fake security guard outside of the DMV conning people and causing a ruckus by charging for entry - We would never do that. The DMV is a government building, it's entirely free to enter, but people still fall for tricks like this.”

However, despite all this, no single place is more infamous within the city of Los Santos in regards to crime than the Infinity Tower Apartment Complex, often referred to as Infinity Block or Crime Tower. What was once a pillar of hope, home and safety for new immigrants eager to breathe new life into this once-great city has become a hotbed of criminal activity, with the highest reported crime rate of any single apartment complex within Los Santos.

"The police don't care if it's not guns or drugs. Stickups, car theft, license plate theft, regular theft, fraud, kidnapping, drug sales, shootouts, homicide, murder, home invasions, we got it all here. Most of the time, police don't even answer the phone, we gotta deal with it ourselves, and then if the police turn up anyway we get thrown in cuffs for trying to protect our **** from these crackheads. **** twelve."

A resident of this infamous building, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed to us here at the Daily Scoop during an impromptu interview. When asked if he they themselves had been the victim of such crimes, they had this to say.

"I've never been shot here or nothing, but I've seen shootouts happening in the building, stabbings and **** too. Some ***** ran my pockets with a knife once, took my ID and ****, and when I called police to get it back they said 'it's in evidence, buy a new one'. Those mother****ers are corrupt as hell, on god."

When asked to speak on the influx of criminal activity within this once-great city, or to help relieve the public by offering a statement regarding their plans, if any, to help curb this troubling trend, the Los Santos Police Department refused to comment.

One thing is for certain, however: With the upcoming mayoral elections within our city, the subject of crime, policing and general public safety remains a vital talking point, with many citizens of Los Santos demanding a change in the system, and further proactive policing from their law enforcement officers.
